Thank you TheFadingAlbastros for your experience. Here in the US I am under the dictation of a insurance company. I may be wrong, but it's not do anything and suffer for the rest of my life or get surgery. My back is in a serious way and surgery looks like my only option. Waiting for that new system made me over look this problem for a long time. Good advice. Still Totally ADD

ttdtt it will be microscopic surgery instead of screws the will be using glue with only a inch long scar. Thanks for the advice.

Sparky1 I will need all the luck I can get. Thank you
FedUpJW it seems that surgery is all I can do. Yes I will ask alot of questions. Yes it will be a neurosurgeon. Thank you for the reminders.

Thank-you for the information on the book LisaRose. I have so far kept off any narcotic pain pills. I have been able to function for many years with certain exercises but since the accident nothing works. I have severe stenosis with a bulging disk. It effects both my legs with what I call electric shocks up both legs. Very painful when I sneeze or cough. All I know is I am bending over more and more when I walk. I am just paying the price of all the heavy construction work I did for forty years. Still Totally ADD

Back in March I fell and injured my back at work. My back has been a problem for many years but certain exercise has able me to function normally through the years. Now I walk bent over with a cane and cannot walk very far, stand, or sit in a straight back chair. The stenosis is past the point of any therapy. Has anyone else known or has gone through this problem before? I am now in the process of making all the arrangements for the surgery. I would like to hear any experiences you all may have. I am only 63 years old but function but feel like I am twice the age. Still Totally ADD

Happy one year out of the cult anniversary. I like your realistic approach to life. Some downs but many ups. It has been 6 1/2 years now for my wife and I still sometimes think about praying before I eat. Also read the same book by Dawkins. It really help me to become a non believer in God. Life for us is good and we have made many new friends. Take care and keep up the good work. Still Totally ADD

What changes would JW.org need to make to become a normal Christian denomination.
by UnshackleTheChains ini am interested in getting people's thoughts on this.
on average 40 thousand people leave the organisation yearly for one reason or another.
the experiences all over the media are proof of this.

For me, they need to apologize for the child abuse that has taken place all these years. Stop the kangaroo courts system with the two witness rule and the way they side with evil ones in the congregation and start protecting the innocent ones. That would be a big step forward. Stop having the attitude you cannot trust the flock to do the right thing. My 2 cents worth. Still Totally ADD

Interesting Thing My Little Girl Said Today
by pale.emperor inmy 3yo daughter lives with me 4 days and with her mum 3 days.
i have her tues, wed, fri evening and saturday all day.
which means my ex takes her to sunday and thursday meetings but she doesn't go door knocking on saturday because she's with me.. i dont mind - at the moment - because in a way i want her to know the jw jargon so we can talk about it without having to explain what it is, and i want her to compare the bullshit to the real world.

Dogon, how right you are. Our kids have nothing to with us. My wife and I have not spoke to them in years. We even have a another grand child we have never seen. My wife and I trained them to well. This is a very dangerous cult. Still Totally ADD

For Minimus, and other old timers who remember H2O and the early days of exJW discussion boards
by Broken Promises ini'm having a debate with someone on facebook who claims he came up with the term "borg" in reference to the wts back in the mid 2000s.
however i'm certain the term was used on h2o as early as 1999 as well as here when this site was first set up.. can anyone confirm that i'm not dreaming?
what's the earliest you remember seeing the term being used?.

minimus I don't claim to be a old timer but I started lurking on this site back in 2007. When I heard the term the Borg used I knew exactly what was being talked about. Thanks to my watching Star Trek next generation. The term Borg fits the WT. Cult to a tee. It help me to reason many things out. To whoever came up with using the term borg to identify the wt. Cult, thank you every much. Still Totally ADD

How many remember the 1969 8 day convention?
by seek2find inanybody remember the 8 day 1969 international convention.
i was at the braves stadium in atlanta all 8 days with a sunburn and then wet clothes after the rain storms.
if you were there (not necessarily in atlanta) do you remember anything about it?

I was 15 years old when we went to the Atlanta 8 day convention. If there is a real burning hell, back in 1969 in Atlanta was a great example of what it might be like. LOL. Still Totally ADD

EdenOne thank you for your one year appraisal. It shows we leave the cult not to do bad things but just to have a normal life. Good Luck to you and your family and have a great day. Still Totally ADD
